Inside an Antiquarium

Drive over soft curvy hills, covered with green, gold, distant patterns, East on Highway 136 from Auburn, NE, just West of the Missouri River to find a small town populated with artists, intellectuals, philosophers, musicians, writers and poets.  Brownville, Nebraska never stops celebrating knowledge and enlightenment.   It is here that you can visit the former and first (1867) Nebraska State Teachers Association building.  Within the thick, brick walls is a two story interior filled with books, art and a particularly interesting fellow named, Tom.  Thomas Rudloff, owner of “The Antiquarium,” sells used and rare books along side of ephemera (pamphlets, notices, post cards, photos and other fleeting notions) and displays/sells the late Bill Farmer’s art.

You will likely be offered a cup of coffee to enjoy while browsing and you will without doubt, buy something.  The experience is a great lift for your soul and nutritious for your brain.  Take your very best friend and enjoy a few hours in Brownville at “The Antiquarium.”
