Soap

When I was a child, Grandma’s laundry would smell so clean and fresh. I would help her on weekends wash clothes, run them through the old fashion ringer and hang them on the rusty old clothes line. Yes, the fresh air and sun gave clothes a freshness, but the secret was her home-made soap. She used tallow and lye with no artificial color or scent. The soap she made was cut in a bar for the sink and grated for the laundry. Today I made some oatmeal soap with lavender and rosemary. I am experimenting with recipes and will post Grandmas old fashion soap recipe soon. Please post any recipes or comments.  We’d love to hear from you.
